Meet our Maintenance Director, Shawn Wise

Veranda Gardens is filled with amazing individuals who are committed to making a difference in residents' lives. We love turning the spotlight onto a staff member each month who deserves an extra shoutout for their hard work! This month we would like to celebrate Shawn Wise, our Maintenance Director!

Shawn joined Foundations Health Solutions as a painter who served several of our facilities back in March of 2020. What a time to join the healthcare industry! In March of 2021, Shawn began filling in as the interim Maintenance Director at Veranda Gardens and ultimately took over the role permanently.

Shawn graduated from Edgewood High School and then spent four years serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. After serving, Shawn made a career of 21 years in the steel industry before joining healthcare in the peak of the current pandemic. When Shawn is not working, he can be found spending time with his 2 sons, perfecting his lawn or enjoying some good chicken wings.

When asked what he loves about working at Veranda, Shawn states, "every day is different and provides a new learning opportunity. I enjoy helping the residents and working with my coworkers."

Shawn works hard to ensure our facility is well maintained and a comfortable place for our residents to live and our staff to work. He comes in when called for emergencies off hours with a can-do attitude and takes pride in his ability to be of assistance. We are so grateful to have someone like Shawn on our team!!!
